History In Our Wood Shop

In what is a nice counter balance to our million dollar computerized wood working machines, we just added a piece of mechanical history to our arsenal.

This is a a Rockwell Direct Drive Thickness Planer, built (we think) around the 1920s. We'd challenge any planer built today to a contest with this machine. It will finish wood up to 24" wide and have it come out baby butt smooth.
