Barring any unforeseen problems along the way, this is what you should expect. The actual time
required for each phase is, of course, totally dependent on the individual size of the facility and the
scope of work that will be required. However, the process should follow the same path just
adjust the time to your particular project.
DEMOLITION should take only a few days and will usually require making arrangements for
rubbish removal.
CONSTRUCTION could take as little as a few days or as much as a week or two depending on
your requirement for new walls, ceilings, platforms, and rooms.
ROUGH PLUMBING can usually be completed within a day or two, but this also depends on
the amount of work and the availability of water supply, drainage, and venting. Once installed,
the rough plumbing will have to be inspected.
ROUGH ELECTRIC can also usually be completed within a day or two but also depends on the
availability of service and the scope of work to be done. Plan for inspection time once this is
completed, as well.
HVAC is usually already in place. However, for new installations, replacements, or repairs you
should plan enough time for this as well.
FLOORING should take only a day or two, but can take longer depending on several factors
such as preparation of the sub floor, ceramic tile setting and grouting, or wood refinishing.
CEILING work can go from easy, such as replacing acoustic tiles, to more involved, such as
hanging gypsum board and building soffits and vaults. Any ceiling construction work should be
included in the general construction phase, as should the installation of new suspended ceiling
grid.
LIGHTING installation should take a day or two and will depend on the types and number of
fixtures.
PAINT should be one of the final details to complete before bringing your furniture and
equipment in so that there will be a minimum amount of damage that may occur to the finished
work.
FURNITURE INSTALLATION should, in many cases, be completed in a day. Of course, this
depends on the number of pieces and the complexity of their design.
FINISH PLUMBING should be completed once the furniture and equipment are in place. The
sinks and equipment requiring a water supply should be mounted and connected.
FINISH ELECTRIC can now be done. All receptacles, phone and data, light fixtures, fans, air
cleaners, etc should be connected and wall plates, if required, should be mounted.
TOUCH UP is your final phase before bringing products, supplies, pictures, plants and personal
items into your new spa. Carefully inspect all installations to make sure that everything is
finished and in good working order.
