Salon Interiors Takes Another Step Towards Ecologically Sound Manufacturing
South Hackensack, NJ
December 2005
"Environmental consciousness is easy", states Walter Siegordner CEO and founder of Salon Interiors, Inc., "practicing it is another story". Considerations of quality, durability, ease of handling and manufacturing needs to be balanced against costs, and ultimately, if the customer is willing to pay for it.
Salon Interiors is a manufacturer of cabinetry and case goods, specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of salons and spas. This years marks its 24th year in business, guaranteeing customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
Over the years, changes have been made; from basic waste recycling, to changing over from solvent based adhesives to water based.
We are now able to offer our customers a new material to construct the cabinets from, "Straw Board". Straw board is not a new concept-lumber panels are traditionally made from trees, star board is made from wheat stalks. When straw board first came to market the prices was prohibitive the quality and durability on the low end. This new product is fantastic, moisture-resistant, formaldehyde-free and approved by GreenSpec®. Wheat is an annually renewable resource. Traditionally after the wheat harvest, the stalk was a waste product often burned to reduce bulk.
Salon Interiors now can continue to offer their customers a high quality product at an affordable price, with less stress and strain on the environment.
